Thought:
Father's Day.  The day we recognize the daddy's.  Birth fathers, surrogate fathers and folks that helped you grow up like a father, they are all to be remembered and honored.  It is the father(s) in your life that wade through the mucky waters of your growing up, maturing and struggle for independence.  They are there as you experience growing pains, but also the joys and celebrations of that very growth.  Father's Day.
Hear the Good News, as your father(s) is present in your growth, there is another Father who is always with you.  This, your heavenly Father, offers you strength, courage, wisdom and direction all of your days.  Sure, yesterday was Father's Day, but should not every day be Father's Day?  A day of thanks and appreciation for the way both your earthly father and your Heavenly Father has been there for you?  Give thanks.

Prayer:
Thank you Father for the direction and upbringing You have offered to me.  In my youth and immaturity I have at times rejected Your direction, yet You still loved me and received me.  Help me to be the parent that receives my children, that builds up, loves and supports.  Let me offer all that You have offered to me, Your child.  Thank You Father, for all You have done and all You will continue to do in my life.  Amen.
