Verse:

"When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bound to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. "

1 Samuel 18:1 (NRSV)

Thought:

They mean the world to us. Experiences are shared and cherished. Times spent dreaming together, crying together are not forgotten. You will do everything you can for them, because you are Best friends.

Hear the Good News, God puts people in your life who help us to connect to life, to love and to God. Such is the case of Jonathan and David. Theirs was a relationship that not only pointed to God, but kept David alive. We all have friends, friends who point us to God and who we point to God. Bound from the depths of our soul, we remain close and true. But how often do we share our faith with them? How often do we empower them to share what God has in their life even today? This is friendship.

Prayer:

Gracious God, I am thankful for the people you have placed in my life whom I call friend. Close to my heart and soul, I long to see them and spend time with them. This is the same relationship I have and wish to have with Jesus Christ. Let me seek Him in all I do. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to do, for ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
