Ever feel like you are
on top of the world and before you know it, something happens to humble you?
Not a whole lot of fun. Sometimes we even feel as though we have done
everything needed, only to find out there is one more thing. Isaiah
talks about it, The rich young ruler, it seems lived it. "I have
followed all of the laws. . . what more must I do to get into heaven?"
"Give up all you have and follow me."
The young ruler had taken
pride in the fact he lived a good and holy life. He was ready for
Jesus to say, "nothing my son, you have arrived." But the
fact was his arrogance and pride had blinded him to the fact there was
more he should do, not to mention could do.
Hear the Good News, Christ
brings to us a new pride and new confidence. That is to say His
presence in our life gives our life new meaning. Our pride and
confidence come in the form of our humility, knowing all that Christ has
done for me, for you. Live each day knowing Christ has given all he
could, for you. Know someone lives you so much they have not only
offered himself for you, but given himself for you!
