Verse:
Do not lord it over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock."

Thought:
There was an evangelist, a long time ago that use to travel through these parts, putting up tents and delivering messages a week at a time.  This particular evangelist was in Nacogdoches and preaching up a storm, when a newborn decided to compete.  After a while the evangelist had had enough, red faced and aggravated, he pointed out his long finger and yelled at the mother to pacify the baby to shut it up.  Well, three-fourths of those in attendance slipped on out and the next day there was no one who returned.
Hear the Good News, as Christians, God gives us all flocks of people who we can make a difference with.  Being an effective witness involves getting in there and living and leading with peace, with grace and with love.  We will undoubtedly be challenged, but isn't that why it is we are leading?

Prayer:
Lord, You have blessed me with such a flock.  I am like a proud parent.  Allow me to be faithful as I lead daily.  Grant me grace and wisdom, so I might be able to make a difference.  Thank You for placing me here, in my life, though it may be rough form time to time, I am able to see what a wonderful path I have traveled upon.  I would not have it any other way!  Thank You for all You have done in my life, and all You will continue to do, through Christ our Lord I pray.  Amen.
