E-votional - Pentecost
May 21, 2002
Verse:

"All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

Acts 2:12 (NRSV)

Thought:

Miscommunication causes problems. It calls into question action items as well as things that have been done. Miscommunication can result in doubling of efforts. Misunderstanding is also causes problems, the same problems as miscommunication, the major difference being miscommunication is the cause, while misunderstanding is the result. So lets be clear, Pentecost, the beginning of the Church, is about God and God's activity and desire to bring about the Kingdom of God. Pentecost is about communication and action, resulting in communication.

Hear the Good News, God, in spite of our differences, uses us to open the eyes of all to His presence and power. It is us who must share and communicate so other might understand. Simply put, listen to what God has to say to you. If you can't hear, ask for help, He will respond. When you do hear, share what He has to say to you.

Prayer:

Gracious God, You speak so I might be able to hear, You have shared with others that I might know of You. Let me help to strengthen others. Let me offer clarity, not confusion. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to do, for ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
