"The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty."
Thought:
There are voices that are memorable
to all who have heard the sound. Tattoo's "The Plane, The Plane" James Earl Jones, "This is CNN", his voice over for Darth Vader, or for that matter, anything he has
said. There is the voice of the mother or father, then of course there is the cry of the newborn child. These sounds, the
voices are as memorable as they are important. So how powerful it must have been to hear the voice of the Lord. How powerful
it must BE to hear the voice of the Lord.
Hear the Good News, God's voice is everywhere, and it is there for us to hear. The Psalmist realized that
we can hear and experience the voice of God before us. He also acknowledges the need and importance to honor God for His
activity and love in our life. The Psalmist, you see, heard the voice that touched his soul, and each and every time he
experienced this voice, it took him back to that first time. The sound of God's voice warmed his heart and provided the
much needed peace and comfort. Different voices bring to us different responses and memories. While I will always remember,
"Luke, I am your father," followed by the sense of irony and conflict, I too will remember, "This is My Son, with whom I am
well pleased!"
Gracious Father, Your voice is hear, if only we will hear it. our voice brings much comfort and peace.
This same voice tend to also bring about responsibility. Let me respond to and honor this voice in my
life, that I might
be faithful to Your presence in my life. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to
do, for I ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
