Verse:

"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Mark 9:10 (NRSV)

Thought:

Not only being drawn together, but staying together. Connection. It is strength. Connection is support. Connection is being able to lean on another, being able to count another as friend, as family, bringing hope in times of confusion or question. Connection identifies that we need others, we need their strengths as well as their weaknesses. Connection makes a whole out of parts. Connection is relationship.

Hear the Good News, God connects us to others, fortifying us in strength and in love. As you find something that puzzles you, that troubles you or offers more questions than answers. A terrible storm came through the Tatum/Longview area this morning. Amy and Casey were in Longview, I was in Tatum. When Amy and Casey came home, Casey was all about hugs and smiles. While she was in Longview, she was more scared than anything else. She did not understand the noise or the darkness during the day, but once home, all she wanted to do was hug, re-connect. God brings us together, calling us to stay together, offering one another strength in our weaknesses, using one another's gifts to bring forth a fulfilled and hopeful life. Therefore, that which God has joined together, let none put asunder.

Prayer:

Gracious God, You look at us and help to complete us. Thank you for connecting me to other who know and trust You. Strengthen my relationship and connection with You and with others. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to do, for ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
