VERSE:

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the Tempter, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.

THOUGHT:

Watching children at church is something quite funny. Actually I think we can learn a lot from children, especially their interaction with others and their parents. Take the little shy son or daughter of a friend. The first time you got to meet them and introduced yourself, what did they do? They run and grab on to mommy or daddy's leg and hide behind them! They don't know you or what you are about. They see someone big and different. They see some big. different and reaching for them. Then if they begin to get scared, what do you do? You laugh, in embarrassment and back off. Children know a safe place is with their parents. They know that if there is trouble, mommy or daddy is going to be there am make sure everything is safe and better.

Hear the Good News, when you seek out God, not only does He welcome you, but He goes to you. He does not wait for you to get closer, He begins to walk to you, because He loves you and wants to care for you. When you grab on and "hide" behind God, though you may be in scary waters, you will be safe.

PRAYER: Father, Thank You for mommies and daddies. Thank You for the safe places in our life. Help us to turn to You in times of trial and temptation, that we might find strength in Your presence. Finally, allow us to be good "mommies" and "daddies" to all we encounter. Allow us to offer another a safe place. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
