VERSE:

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

THOUGHT:

Quietly, you peer around corners, crack open doors, all the while listening for one heavy breather. Watching for that shoe that is not totally hidden, or startling movements out of the corner of your eye. Then, quickly opening the door, or jumping from around a corner, you scream, "you're it!" I used to love to play hide and seek, especially when I was not the one that was it. But, when I was, there was something very exciting about being able to find and surprise an unsuspecting player. Sure, there was that chance of not being able to find the person or people you were looking for, but when you did, it was exhilarating. Something very interesting though, when the game lost some of it's life, we would then try to find the searcher, following the person that was it, until at last we needed to make a brake for the base.

Let me tell you about another hide and seek. Hear the Good News, God is it, and He is looking for you! Whether we know it or not, our life is a sort of hide and seek game. We either knowingly or unknowingly hide parts of our life from God, the good and the bad. As we go through life we run from the different callings God has placed on our hearts, who knows why, but we do. Then, when we come to realize more about God, we find out He is right there, in our midst.

Think about this for a second, have you been hiding? There really is no need. God is around you. Then you might ask, well why don't I feel any different? I can only guess it may be because your heart and soul are looking and preoccupied with something else. Those empty spots in your heart and in your soul can be filled really with only one thing, . . .

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, those empty spots in my life, I need you to fill them. Bless me with a deeper and more personal understanding of Your presence in my life. Free me from hiding my life from and help me to seek You out, inviting You into the small and large parts of my life. Let me turn myself totally over to You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
