Ministry

VERSE:

"Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?" -- Romans 3:9-10, New International Version

THOUGHT:
Ministry.  Helping those who need it.  Offering what you can.  Prayer.  Service.  Presence.  Why?  Because all People Matter to God.  Search yourself and ask, what is it you are doing.  What is I can do.  How might I do it?  As a minister, I can't imagine saying to someone, hey that is a valid ministry, but you can do it here.
You have ministry in you.  In fact I have yet to meet someone without ministry in them.  Those righteous ones in the passage, they were living by the letter of the law and may have been missing out on what the spirit of the law was truly about.  You say, "I don't want to be taken advantage of."  Then do it in a way you know you won't be taken advantage of.  If someone is panhandling for food, give them food.  The easy way out will always be the cash.  In other words, be creative in your ministry!

PRAYER:
Holy and Righteous God, I believe You have given me a ministry.  Help me to find it.  Open my heart up to the Spirit of Your presence, Your New Law, so I might be able to respond to Your direction and inspiration.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.
