E-votional - My Hope For You
April 17, 2002
Verse:

"For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. "

Romans 1:11-12 (NRSV)

Thought:

That face, the smile, may be it is their countenance. What ever it is, it is what draws me to want to spend more time with them. Could it be love? Not necessarily the "I love you, lets get married" love, but the, " You are special and your life, your living matters to me" type of love. What ever it is, there is no doubting a connection.

Hear the Good News, as Christians, we have a connection with others. A connection that reminds us of God's work in the world, Christ's redemption for me and you. This connection is also the presence of the Holy Spirit serving as the spiritual glue that holds us together. The world I live in would be different if one person I know was not here. Things would be different if the people who I have encountered did not share their faith, even their life with me. So my prayer is to share what I have with you. My prayer is that you might share what you have with me.

Prayer:

Gracious God, You have given us a wonderful gift, the gift of The Holy Spirit. Through this gift we connect with others and share our faith. Let me remember to share what You have done in my life, and help me to offer strength to others through You. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to do, for ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
