VERSE:

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

THOUGHT:

Movement in the night, strange, unfamiliar sounds startling us are things that might bring fear. Jason (Friday the 13th movies), Michael Myers (Halloween 1-3 & H20) and Freddie Kruger (Nightmare on Elm St.), they too bring fear. They are about the unknown and the unpredictable. Moms, Dads, Family, and Friends, they bring us to thoughts of love. Smells, sights, sounds and tactile experiences remind us of the love we have experienced. These things tend to be predictable in the sense that we know where we stand and what is in store for us.

Hear the Good News, Jesus says, "Do not fear, I Am." we have a great relationship and know where we stand with Jesus. How do we know? Look to Sunday, for you will remember He has risen. The next time you feel scared, scared about life in general or your relationship (or lack of relationship) with God, remember, as Jesus is with you, there really in no need to be scared. If on the other hand you are standing on a platform, looking down some 150 ft, with an oversized rubber band on you ankles or back, that may be another thing all together. I would like to do that!

PRAYER:

Dear Father in heaven, thanks. Thank You, for You are holy, awesome, and faithful. Help me to not be scared about life. Please, let me see and understand that there is hope in my life. Give me strength to live each day bravely and to live my life to the fullest. Thank you. I love you. In Jesus' name I praise you. Amen.
