In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
-- Matthew 5:16
Recently, with the different computer viruses, we find ourselves scared, afraid to open unknown attachments or mail from addresses from which we don't know the origin. Also, it seems many people are afraid to go see people who are sick or in the hospital, for fear of "catching" something themselves. Ministry to people with terminal illnesses are few and far between, because of the fear of "catching" their killer. So we hide. We limit the chances we take. We limit the opportunities we respond to. We enter a box, in one way or another.
Hear the Good News, Jesus, He is about bringing light to the dark places. As Jesus is a part of who you are, and as the Holy Spirit dwells within you, you my friend have a light to be shared with others. This light within you allows you, compels you to share yourself with other people. Share your special gift with another. Share your heart. Share your faith. Love one another. The smile that forms on your lips, carries over to your eyes, your cheeks and on to another. Don't hide your light out of fear. Don't hide your light period. Share who you are and what you are about.
Dear Father, warm me within and create a stir within me that calls me and gives me courage to share my gifts with others. Let me share Your Love, Peace and Presence with others today, that they may come to know You better. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
