VERSE:

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

THOUGHT:

Have you ever sat or stood, looking out the window, watching as the birds fly through the air, or as the squirrels scamper across the ground, chasing one another up and down tree? And during that find yourself remembering another time, or wishing you were as free as those outside? maybe, it is during this time that you find yourself dreaming of a time when that was you, when this freedom was indeed a reality.

Hear with your heart, the Good News, as we seek out God and embrace the refuge he has for us, the experience we find is a new freedom. It is a freedom to love, to serve and to know that you are loved more than anything else in this whole world. God brings to us a joy and sense of completeness that can come only from God. Any parts that might feel lacking are shored up by His presence in your life.

I have a question for you, does a rain coat keep it from raining? Do sunglasses make it darker outside? No, and No. Does God's presence in our life, in my life, mean that the world around us changes? Not necessarily, what it does mean is that we change, and as we change, the world begins to change, one person at a time. It means we see the world in a different light and with a different understanding of our self and our surroundings.

PRAYER:

Praise to You, mighty and embracing God. Thank You for Your kindness, Your Love, and Your never-ending Presence. Let me find my strength in You. Let me be changed by what You do in my life. Help me to change the world around, one person at a time, starting with me. You are who I want to dream about, to wish about and to hope about. It is You that gives me hope all of my days. In your name, and in the name of your Son Jesus, I rejoice and offer praise. Amen.
