VERSE:
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

THOUGHT:
We had just moved into a new house in Cypresswood Subdivision.  There really was not grass in the backyard, but there was so much clay.  Being around nine years old and somewhat creative, I went into the backyard and started to "create" the next great work of art.  With water in hand and clay in the ground I began to make "the nine year old ashtray/bowl for mom."  I worked and dug and out came a work of art.  This art was something I proud of and happy to be able to give to my mom.  It was an expression of my creativity, but more than that, and expression of love.
Hear the Good News, God formed us, both out of creativity, but more out of love.  Mom did not throw out the hard dirt/clay ashtray/bowl.  It stayed around and served many a purpose.  So here you are, you are not thrown away, but you are here for a purpose.  Remember you are God's craftsmanship, and you do and will serve a purpose.  Do just that!  To you, my Mom.  Love you.

PRAYER:
Thank you, dear Father, for being creative enough to make even me, but most of all for the love expressed in my design & creation.  Allow me to share that love with others and to fulfill my purpose!  In Jesus' grace-filled name I pray. Amen.
