VERSE:
And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I
love;
with you I am well pleased."
-- Mark 1:11, New International Version

THOUGHT:
Wouldn't it be great, if before you were to face a
difficult task, or even each day, the heavens would open up and say something
like,
"David, I love you.
I am and will be with you always. Live this day knowing how I feel about
you."
You know what, each day we open with
prayer and some time for God, this happens. I know it has happened many
times in my life. How do I know? I see an empty cross. How else? I
know of the resurrection.
Yesterday, someone asked me
what place does the resurrection play in my life, my ministry. After
fumbling around for a minute, I explained how many times I have died.
Bad mistakes, Poor choices, etc. But I had to follow it with the many
resurrections I have experienced. Grace, Love, Forgiveness, the hope to
turn the corner and move on.
Hear the Good News, although you may know have
always hear the statement, I guarantee that God has uttered these very words
to you also. "Here is my son/daughter, whom I love, and with Whom I
am well pleased.
PRAYER:
Almighty and loving Father, please help me to hear the words you
utter to me. Let me know that I am not alone, but with You, Who are in
fact well pleased with me. Finally, help me to live to be worthy of
all of the grace, love, and forgiveness you extend to me, so that when
temptation comes, or when others try to draw me away from You, Your
presence will keep me firmly surrounded in who You have called me to be and
what You have called me to do. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
